The beginning
Seek positive was started in 2021 out of Matthew's (our founder) bedroom. Our motto is "find the positive in your truth" meaning, look at life "Glass half full" don't lie to yourself about your situation, hold yourself accountable, thats where the "truth" comes from. Finding the positive is hard in life.
Early days...
Drops 1-3
Established in October 2021, Drop 1 took place in november. Drop 2 and 3 came soon after in February and June of 2022. This capsule of 1-3 where all ideas desgned by matthew and his friends at 14-18 years old. Most where ideas matthew had as a kid, heavly influenced by Skateboarding, Surfing, Streetwear and Music merch. "This was the most fun point of the company. Something about being a kid and just living and not worring about the outcome was truley amazing"-Matthew. The early goal was 3 drops a year, this seemed to be a harder task than we'd ever know...
Year 2/3
Drops 3-6
Going into year two, we released Drop 4 (Nov 2022), a new take on designs. Soon after, A close friend to the company got dignosed with Leukemia. The sales of the "SPU" hoodie broke our previous sale record. The profits where donated to the family to help cover medical costs. All of this was Setting a new playing field for Drop 5... S/S 2023 (drop 5) was a mission to get done. completely rethinking quality and what we can accomplish. In this mission we came up with 'DUO" a double sized drop with Drop 6 and RECYCLED. Recycled would be a completely new take on clothing, all 1 of 1 thrifted and repurposed clothes that we'd up-cycle, or as we call it, recycle. All of Recycled pieces are hand crafted. This was the most about of money put into the company at this time.
The Drop that almost Killed Matt
When we almost had to shut down..
In the making of drop 6, we'd switch manufacturers, reform the company and change our outlook completely. We where chasing Higher-quality, Better accesseries and a new sales record. We spent 6 months rebranding, just for the week of the drop to come and matthew totaled his truck, along side a childhood best friend Bobby. This put a fork in the road of Drop 6. The truck wore a windshield banner with our new logo (a product we where looking to release in Drop 6) This lead to a 2 1/2 month long legal process, once the dust settled the drop went live on the new site, failing to break the "DUO" sales record. In this legal battle our site was down, loaded with new products that where still samples, spending money on legal fees and trying to maintain a company with no current income left us damn-near bone dry.
